Michael Jordan Continues to Smash Records

Throughout his career, Michael Jordan was no stranger to breaking records. Not much has changed since his retirement in 2003.
Jordan has continued to break records off the court in the sneaker arena. This week, MJ set a record high for most expensive sneakers ever sold at auction. The lucky bidder went home with a pair of Nike Air Jordan 1 High shoes, which were originally worn by Jordan in a 1985 exhibition game.

So, what made these sneaks so coveted? The left sole contains a piece of glass that was lodged into the shoe after Jordan shattered the backboard during a highlight real classic. The shoes were sold for $615,000, breaking the previous record high (also set by a pair of Air Jordan’s).
